I no longer handle ferrets or touch their cages in pet stores because of
ECE.  Apparently, ECE arrived in New Mexico a few years ago via one of
the pet stores.  My ferrets at home are very dear to me and I don't want
to risk giving this terrible disease to them.  I'm not confident that I
could clean my clothes and every surface that I touch thoroughly enough
to be completely disinfected.
