I write this today because on Tuesday I couldn't find the heart to do it.
I wanted to write a funny post about my friend Brenda and I going to
Victorville on Monday to rescue a ferret that a F&G warden has had for
a month, pending a court case. It was a real adventure going through 2
snow storms, our conversation with Mr. D from F&G and so on, it was a
very comical adventure and very long , 12 hours to get a ferret that was
only 3 hours away.

Well we did get the ferret, hes a huge stinky neutered male that is a BIG
sweetheart!

He is at the vets getting descented, bathe, and getting a througho ear
cleaning, his ears were full of mites, i saw them and it was gross.

We named him Mr. Postman, through rain or sleet or snow or dark of night,
get it.

i gave F&G my card and I will be getting the ferrets safely out of the
victorville area now and any other wildlife that is legal for me to pick
up. He just a a coati that he sent to a zoo, its feet were all mangeled
from a bad declawing.

For the record for a F&G he was pretty nice, he could have euth the ferret
a month ago, due to the circumstances of his case but he kept it at his
home and let me pick him up instead. This is also due to the efforts to
Hildy at Ferretware and the gang at F.A., they are so wonderful.

Anyway afer hardly no sleep i got 10 ferret to the vet Tues am, and was
picking up 4 of mine to come home. My vet told me that Mr. Chitters died
that am, before I got there. I still can't believe he is gone even though
I knew how sick he was. i feel bad because I wasn't there Monday to see
him and say goodbye and tell him I loved him so much. He was one of the
first 50 ferrets I rescued and I even went to San Diego to get him back
because he wound up there once and was going to be euthanized. He was so
full of life and chittered all the time,, he will be missed by me and his
familythat had adopted him. He came back to my to be fixed up and he just
didn't make it, I feel very bad about it, and feel guilty for being in Cal
instead of by his side. Mr. Chitters, I hope you know that I tried my best
and that i love you so very much and I will miss your handsome face.

Ok , I can't deal with that anymore so I'll go on: the 4 ferrets went to
the vet yesterday with 6 others. As it stands right now, all 4 have
adrenal, from mild to advanced, Dr. k kept the worse one to do surgery on
her this week. Bambi also has a large tumor on the end of her tail and
will lose half of her tail for it to be removed completly. we are also
doing a blood workup as she seems too have inslunoma. So one one the 4
from the lady with the jerky hubby is getting done.

i got my first dollar from John, thank you, its starting a fund for the 4
ferrets medical bills. i had some money to put towards it but had to use
it for the trip to pick up the cali ferret.

I have gotten in other ferrets this week, all babies and beautiful so
hopefully they will get a home and that can help with the vet bills. its
a weird year I'm either getting very sick ferrets or babies. It must be
the year of the ferret!

I'll post again later on Drag's progress, he is home but still having
urination problems.

Take care,
CJ
