Dear Deborah:

For anyone who would like to know more about squamous cell carcinoma,
there is information on my site (and some pictures) at
http://www.afip.org/ferrets/SCC/SCC.html

Deborah - your best bet, if you want to go this way, is to contact a
referral clinic with a good surgeon specialist and talk about removing
part of the upper jaw and the part of the roof of the mouth. This neoplasm
is fairly slow to metastasize, so there is a chance that radical surgery
may be able to remove all of the tumor. However, the post-operative period
would be stressful on a 6-7 year old ferret.

With kindest regards,
Bruce Williams, DVM
