My herd is up to 10 now, with the addition of three from Shannon Venis a
month or so ago. (You might remember her post about us getting them back
from a wretched pet store.) All three are doing great, but I do have a
question about one of them.
Two are albinos. They are the first albinos I have ever seen. The third
one is a mitted sable but he has red eyes! Granted I have been out of
school for quite a while, but I could swear that albinism is a recessive
trait, and consequently, a sable could not have red eyes. Can anyone help
me out with this?
Two other general notes to make....
The last time I posted I asked what color our little fuzzbutts can see and
the consensus was red. I have painted the babies' room barn red and they
actually have been spending more of their "free range" time in their room
playing. So a big thanks to everyone who told me about color preferences.
Also, my four newest additions have all had their shots with no bad
reactions. Until I joined the FML I took this for granted. Now it is
something I am very thankful for every time one of them needs their
boosters. I am thankful for their good health and the wisdom and kindness
of everyone on this list.
Have a happy and healthy (and safe if you are traveling) holiday this week!
Debi
and the tempestuous ten.
