I missed the message that started the uproar over Sandee somehow, maybe
because I try to skip the Sandee posts. It seems that the original post
went overboard in stating that the poster didn't like the Sandee posts. I
wouldn't have posted on the subject at all except for Kat's post yesterday.
I see that today someone already responded to her in such a way that she
has moderated her thoughts. I am also a person who would not want to see a
Sandee post mentioning my ferret and would find it very distressing. *IF*
I were to actually post a note in honor of one of my ferrets at his death,
just the posting of my tribute, written by the one who actually knew the
ferret, and the reading by those who care to is enough. It's a moment of
love and goodbye to take the time to write a note in rememberance of a
lost pet that I would like to see stand quietly on its own for my pets.
If I have to also put a disclaimer on it asking that no Sandee response
be posted, it seems to me to diminish the tribute somehow.

Now this is in no way intended to belittle those who are comforted by
Sandee posts or the person who takes the time and effort to offer such
comfort. I'm glad they feel better for it, and it's not often that I start
reading the notes before I see what they are and just scroll on past. I
just wanted to say that I would really appreciate not having to "fend off"
a Sandee style eulogy/welcome of my fuzzy friends when their times come. I
have never mentioned in it the past (though I skipped posting one passing
to avoid it) because I didn't wish to offend, but since the topic is
already broached.... I can see how some folks might prefer not to have to
*ask* Sandee to look for their little ones, but since so many already do
I thought perhaps that would be the gentler of the two pangs when compared
to seeing one's ferret's name where one would rather not.

[Moderator's note: I think Sandee has figured it all out. I've been
returning posts having to do directly with the original controversial
post, and this comes close... but all is ok now. BIG]
