This message has two small parts.  The first for FLORIDIANS, second part
is for everyone.  Please read.
 
For all FMLer's in Florida (especially shelters).
 
FLORIDIANS: Please be aware that it has been a very "DRY" season and that
wildfires are popping up everywhere (let's hope it's not like 98').  For
those that do not know - there is only ONE shelter currently in the state a
Florida (although it is rumored that another will open by hurricane season
in Dade County) that will take humans and their animals.  It is located in
Volusia County.
 
IMPORTANT and for Everyone.  Please register with the "Emergency Email
Network," it is so very important -- you will be notified of Local,
Regional or National disasters, power outages, etc.; BUT only for the
county or counties you want in your state.  Here's how to get there.  Go
to: http://www.geocities.com/ffdri once there look on the left side and
scroll down to the 5th item "Resources" click on "resources," scroll down
the page till you see "Emergency Email Network" click on that.  Read the
instruction and register for e-mail, pager or digital notification.  This
is SO IMPORTANT.  You can register for only your county, or many counties
in any state.
