I have two ferrets, whom I have had less than year-not during the winter
season. One a young white & gray female who sheds very little, nothing
comes out when combed and a 3 year old sable male who is shedding like
crazy. He doesn't look like he is balding, he has plenty of hair, but with
each brush the comb is full. The hammocks are covered, I am covered when
I hold him..... Is it normal to shed a lot during this season and so much,
Piper has shed very little so far?

If it is normal do you have any suggestions? What is the best way to clean
their hammocks? I try to do them by hand, but I have a hard time getting
the hair off. How often should I comb him?

Thanks, I just didn't want to over look it incase it is a sign of illness.
Otherwise he seems healthy, though maybe still not totally adjusted to his
new home. I have had him a month and my little girl still has not
accepting him......

Thanks again~
Beatrice
