I was so glad I was home. I have been thanking God for an hour! I am
taking care of a friends ferrets and one of them got his foot stuck in the
corner of the cage. I was just letting out my ferrets because I had been
gone all day when the one that nips started screaming. I thought they were
fighting so I looked in on them and there he was twisting and turning his
paw stuck in the cage. I reached in and tried to help him but I couldn't
get his paw loose! What a horrible feeling!!! He is screaming so loud. I
tired to bend the bars and couldn't. Finally by lifting him, and pulling
on the bars I got him loose. Talk about scared. He limped when I put him
down so he could use the litter box. I put a cold compress on him and let
him stay in the carrier for about an hour. I took plastic ties and made
sure every corner and possible place was secure. I see a red mark on his
toes but he didn't limp when I let him out again. I think if anything had
been broken he would still be limping right? That was the first time he
licked me and didn't bite me. Thank God I was home. Please check your
cages and make sure there isn't a place where a paw could get stuck.
Thanks
