Gordon-Considering that "diction" means "the *choice or use of* words in
speech or writing," and not "proper spelling," I'd say that diction really
isn't a problem in Sandee's posts. Yes, she spells things differently-
"incorrectly" if you will. Who cares? Sandee, whoever she is, does a very
kind service here. I haven't needed her myself, but in reading her posts
I imagine that many ferret owners who have lost their pet would feel some
comfort from reading her imaginative portrayals of how and what the ferrets
are doing since they've left their owners. I know I would. Why anyone
would want to find fault with that is beyond me. She's obviously a very
caring and generous individual.

Hmmm. Well judging from some of the posts around here, I might disagree
with your statement- not everyone acts in a mature, adult manner all the
time. But in Sandee's case if you want to call her "immature", well, I
suppose you have a right to do that. But her posts don't bother me- I
think they're great. I don't remember receiving any guidelines when I
joined the FML about being expected to post in an "adult" manner or to
follow a particular style guide.

But what I have a bigger problem with is your use of "we" in saying what
"we" expect on the FML- who is this "we"? I, for one, don't agree with you
in your views, but I think you have a right to state them. However, please
don't make it sound like we're all against Sandee and that we've formed
some kind of unified alliance that agrees with you in all that you've said.
Let everyone speak for his or herself.

Gosh. I am surprised at the level of hostility you have about this.
Again, please don't write that Sandee is insulting "all of us." Actually,
you've insulted me with your post. I think you have a right to express
your views, but what insults each one of us is an individual thing.
Calling someone "low class" has no place on this mailing list as far as
I'm concerned. I find Sandee's posts humorous and entertaining, and I
certainly consider myself to be an intelligent, "adult", educated person
who happens to be a stickler about grammar and spelling- most of the time.
In this case, I really don't care how she spells things.

>I ask you use a spell checker, get on the same boat as the rest of us.

Well, I don't use a spell checker in my posts. I notice most people make
a mistake here and there. I think the issue of using a spell checker is
very small- insignificant really- as long as we can understand what
everyone is saying. I think the issues of courtesy and respect for each
other's opinions and individuality are much larger issues than spelling
here.

Respectfully,
Jaime Wolf
