Hair loss is generally not associated with age - but before you jump to the
adrenal conclusion, you need to look at the pattern and distribution of
hair loss.  Seasonal shedding is often seen in ferrets, and tail hair loss
is also commonly seen, but is not always associated with adrenal disease.
 
Adrenal disease is very common - if you would like to send a picture - I'd
be happy to take a look.
