I'm not sure if any of you remember, but last year in June a ferret in
the Oshawa area attacked a baby in it's crib.  The ferret was killed as
a result.
 
The owners of the ferret were charged with cruelty (failure to provide)
and back in July I asked you to send letters of support of this charge to
the Crown Attorney's Office.
 
Over the Ferrets 2000 weekend, I was contacted by them to once again asking
for my support.  The couple in question has pled guilty to the charges and
will be sentanced next month.  Bryan, from the Crown Attorney's Office is
going to ask for a tough sentancing (dooks for Bryan!!!!) & I have a
meeting with him next week.

This couple also had children of whom the Children's Aid Society has
custody of currently.  This little ferret may have been killed, but
hopefully it was not in vein....the Crown Attorney's Office & C.A.S. are
also fighting to keep the kids away too.  The attack case that killed
this poor wee ferret opened the eyes of justice to the torture the
children were going through too.
