HI Ronnie-
When I was a youngster- my baby sister (2 years) was all off a sudden
chewing on rubber- bike tires, sneakers, anything rubber- rain coats, etc.
The physician diagnosed her with a severe anemia which required injections
for treatment over several months. I am often prompted to question vets
about rubber chewing ferrets here at the shelter -- though most shrug their
shoulders & say I don't know. Here I have started supplimenting rubber
chewers with Hi-Vite vitamin drops -- it appears to be reducing the
instances of rubber atttraction., perhaps someone will start checking on
iron deficiencies- I certainly have experience a HIGH number of shelter
ferrets over the year with varied liver dysfunctions!!! Though this is
only speculation..... there are no statistics!
