I notice from the news lately you can have a dog that rips a neighbor's
throat out in California, but not a ferret. Admittedly the dog was killed,
but it sure was after the fact. Killer dogs - OK; ferrets - never.
If your ferret is arthritic you may have a good thing as near as your
nearest grocery. You have glucosamine/chondroitin. I can tell you
anecdotally that my arthritis has improved greatly since taking these
supplements for a couple of years. I can also tell you there have been
recent news reports of the testing of, I believe, glucosamine alone in
France. All done correctly, pills and placebos that indicate it helps.
It was a somewhat small batch of patients, though.
Dosage has got to be a problem. The manufacturer(!!) suggests 1500 mg
glucosamine and 1200 chondroitin per day. I take 2/3 that. Reducing
that to ferret size (I weigh 230) suggests a rather small scraping.
