Today's FML was much harder for me to read than most.  My deepest
sympathies go out to Pat over the loss of Sonny.  Sonny sounds like a
wonderful, sweet, fuzzy and I bet Sonny is anxiously awaiting your arrival
at the bridge.  I know your heart aches right now, and I feel your pain.
It is obvious how much you love Sonny.
 
After reading the post from the Wellington's about the Meadows Pet Store
assault - shame on those stupid police officers!  My recommendation would
be to get a lawyer.  Those police are wrong in what they told you, she had
NO RIGHT to physically assault you, touch you or break your camera.  Unless
you were threatening her life, she had no right whatsoever and could NOT
claim "self defense".  Hopefully you got the police officers' names and
badge numbers, so that you can contact the city attorney's office.  Heck,
I would write a letter to the mayor and get every media agency involved
with your story.  You have a witness, so that is definitely in your favor.
Bless you for your dedication and bravery in this matter.
 
As for the animals in that/those stores, there is little you can do if the
authorities wont intervene.  It sounds like you have gone to great lengths,
so the next step would be the city attorney's office and/or the mayor.  If
I lived there, I would stand in front of the Mayor's office until he/she
would hear me out.  In any case, I would ignore what those officers told
you and I would go file a police report.  Then, in about a week, follow up
with the prosecuting attorney's office to find out what the results are
going to be of your case.  I would get a lawyer and sue the amazon witch
for assault.  Hit her in the pocket book, that is always a good way to
shut a business down.  The media here would eat this up.
 
My condolences go out to those who have lost precious ones.  Hang in there
Jadesun.
