I am in the middle of a possible diagnosis of adult-onset asthma. Of
course one of the first suggestions the Dr. had was to get rid of my fur
babies (two ferrets and a dog). I told him no way! He just smiled and
said he didn't blame me - but that I had to deal with the situation some
way!

BUT I do need some suggestions.......... He says I am more than likely NOT
allergic to the animals, but quite possibly to the mites that live on the
dander formed by their skin and hair. He suggested weekly baths for them
to combat this, and mentioned that there are some "sealers" that can be
applied to them like a conditioner that helps to control the wafting around
of dander. Anyone ever hear of such a thing? Know of a product name and
where I might buy it?

I would really like to hear from other people who are ferret owners and
have asthma - and hear of any suggestions you can make to make my breathing
easier and still keep my babies. FMLers are the greatest!
