Well, all went well at the vet's last night. Everyone got their shots and
didn't have any reactions. Hurray!

Sandy was such a good girl. She didn't bite or anything, and curled up in
my arms afterwards and dozed off.

Noel bit the vet tech. I was shocked because she's never done that. In
fact, Noel is usually the kisser. Then when the vet put the needle in,
she jumped away with the syringe still hanging off of her shoulder. Oops!
But she came away none the worse for wear.

Kyle did well. He does have a small mast cell tumor above his left
shoulder (about the size of a pencil eraser). The vet gave me a topical
ointment to apply twice a day. It's called Panalog/Anamax. Has anyone
ever heard of that? Does it work, or did my vet talk me into some snake
oil? The vet said if the ointment doesn't clear it up, it will have to be
surgically removed. Blah!

Slinky did well too. Uneventful for him. The vet did say that Noel's and
Kyle's spleen were slightly enlarged, but he wasn't concerned. He said
they were smooth, not lumpy.

Also the vet suggests doing a blood panel on all of them because they
are all 3 years of age (or more). He said it makes it easier to detect
problems in the future. But it costs $56 per ferret! Does this make
sense to do? Is it really necessary?

Fuzzy hugs and fert luv to all!
