Well, my girls and I seem to have run into a situation: technically I'm not
supposed to have them here on campus without a unanimous floor vote, but
no one really cares. However, today I got a message from my hall director
saying someone had told him I'm keeping them with me and I need to "get rid
of them." (NOT an option; they're very happy and well taken care of and
are staying with me-- only other choice would be giving them to a shelter)
So they're going to have to lay low with a friend for a few days, with
lots of visits from mom, until this blows over. Before I get flamed for
breaking rules, etc., let me say that there are a lot more ferret-friendly
people around here than not, and it just happened to be one of the "nots"
that talked to the higher-ups.

On to my next subject (Dr. Williams, if you're not too busy?): Do ferrets
get hotspots like dogs can? I ask because my Lola, who is right now curled
up asleep on my lap looking deceptively angelic, has a patch of hair that
looks like it's been shaved. It's right in the crease of her thigh.
She's always been pretty itchy, but I've seen her working on this spot
specifically. It's not completely bald and she doesn't seem to have hair
loss anywhere else, like I said it looks like a patch has just been shaved.
Help?

Thanks,
Rachel and the monsters
