Stacy, we also had ferrets back then and they DID get growths then, too.
It's just that no one knew what to do about them so they didn't have a
chance then.  Neutering (perhaps at any age -- that's an unknown) seems
to increase the chances of adrenal growths because whole ferrets don't
get those very often (though some do get them) but is still safer than
the complications form leaving them whole, and fancies have greatly (very
greatly) increased in numbers even though some types of fancies (from any
source) have increased numbers of health difficulties.
 
No, the MFs we've had and have do NOT have any more health problems with
them than with out ones form any other sources over the 18 years.
