Here is a list of web sites I know of on the internet with major articles
on MF.

Presuming all the information is correct and you were to give MF a clean
slate from 1993-96 MF still has problems

Activists Foil Marshall Farms Invasion of France (2000)

The Marshall Europe application had already been turned down twice, once
at Blyes (01), and again at Donjon (03).

Practicing Surgery on Ferrets
In his letter to Philippe Gregoire, Prefect of l'Allier in Moulins, France,
Dr. Neal Barnard, M.D., president of Physicians Committee for Responsible
Medicine, complained both about the use of dogs and ferrets in medical
research and training - including giving medical students live ferrets to
use for "practice surgeries"!! - where humane alternatives are available.
He also aired specific complaints against Marshall Farms in his June 7,
1999 letter, which states in part:

"Further, there are serious ethical considerations related to the proposed
Marshall Farms operation. Marshall Farms has time and again failed to
comply with even the very minimum housing and welfare requirements of the
Animal Welfare Act.

January 16, 1998
"A terrible fire took place on Marshall Farms' North Rose property on
January 16, 1998, burning 151 pregnant beagles and 449 beagle puppies
alive. (was warned 3 years earlier about the problem)

In its March 1994 license renewal application, Marshall stated that in the
previous business year it had sold 12,425 beagle dogs, and 82,918 ferrets.
At least some of the beagles are apparently sold for research, and in the
past Marshall spokespersons have said that up to 10 percent of its ferrets
may be sold for research. {Making the current guesstament at 10,000)

And it appears that breeding females usefullness for breeding is 3 years
indicating euthanizing.

Further articles are at
http://www.acmeferret.com/info_toc.htm#marshall
(6 or 7 additional articles)

I emailed MF some months ago concerning the first article and MF didn't
reply with any corrections or comments. I'm new enough to ferrets and
tried to skip others opions and get the scoop from MF and MF is a business.
