First of all let me thank those people who were not shelter operators for
not bothering me, second, let me thank all those shelter operators who took
the time to group vent with me. Now don't we all feel a little better
exchanging stories about those rude, ignorant, and just plain inconsiderate
people who seem to think the term "SHELTER" means 24-7 PET STORE, that is
open just for their convience, just for their schedule, and just for them.
Don't we just love those kind of jerks. They make what we try to do seem
so unimportant. Not that any shelter operator does it for recognition or
self promotion, well maybe few do, but the vast majority of us do it out of
some sick and twisted desire to help these little creatures who have found
themselves in a situation that is not quite right. So yes, it does burn a
hole in my britches when I waste precious time waiting for some
inconsiderate wanna be Beastmaster, who all of a sudden desires the company
of a Ferret or any rescue animal. But I feel better venting and hearing
the stories from fellow Shelter Operators who have also endured the
victimization of the inconsiderate self proclaimed humanitarian who wants
to feel good about themselves so they do it by taking up the precious time
of the shelter operator who obviously has nothing better to do than wait
for these charitable people to fit us in their schedule.

So please, if you are considering adopting a ferret from a shelter. I do
applaud you for your decision to help out these abandoned critters, but
also take into the consideration the people who go out of their way to
operate shelters.
