I've had a lot of luck with my ferret by playing a recorder or flute.
It's sort of like the Pied Piper: she runs right to me if she possibly
can, and she scratches and makes a lot of noise if she can't get to me.
If you happen to have a flute or recorder, or know someone who does, give
it a try.
