I was just thinking how lucky I am to have my vet, Dr. Walker available
for my ferrets. Over the weekend I had a minor human emergency and the dr.
on call could have cared less. Told me to call back if it got any worse
but that there was a good chance it wasn't an emergency. I thought of the
difference if I'd called Dr. Walker with the same symptoms from one of my
ferrets. He'd have had her up there immediately to examine and determine
if tests were needed and at the bare minimum put her on antibiotics to
avoid secondary infections. Most importantly, he would have listened to my
opinions and answered questions. I sure wish that he could treat animals
AND humans. I know we'd be a healthy happier family.
