Yes Marshall's sells ferrets for research.  Childrens hospital in DC uses
them for intubation practice in the PEMSTEP program.  Ferrets vocal cords
are like an infants.  The ferrets are treated very well and only used a
couple of times for intubation, at which time they are found good homes.
 
Just my 2 cents worth.
