In my opinion if this person cannot afford to pay for the ferret than the
person cannot afford to own the ferret.  The smallest cost of owning a
ferret is buying it.  The cost of food, shots & medical treatment is far
greater and if a $100 is a burden now than a ferret is not the right animal
for this family.  Please educate this man.  Introduce him to a shelter
Mom who will certainly let him know the cost that he could potentially be
in for.
