hi fuzzy fanatics i have been a long time reader 1st time writer though.  i
have 7 ferrets 6 male 1 f and just until last weekend it was 6 but i went
to a garage sale last weekend in tekonsha,mi the very last garage sale i
went by had a broke up cage i thought it had a kitten in because it was
pumpkin/champange color and it was HUGE so i decided to stop and see what
is was a ferret kit only 12 weeks old!  it was sitting in 2 and a half
inches of feces!  and was being fed rabbit food!  i was in shock next to
the sighn was "attack ferret stay away" i didn't beileve it ferrets aren't
naturally mean so i asked them to hold it i assured them i had 6 at home
so i am used to bites if there was any they let me hold him and he was so
scared and skittish he tried to bite a couple times so i scruffed him and
the ppl was like "wow he isn't even biting her!!" i wanted to hit them
because while i was holding the poor guy their 13 year old was talking
about how he was going to be killing him!
 
i guess the poor ferrets back ground was a bad backyard breeder had put him
up w/some brothers and sisters in a aution the ppl bought him to breed but
thought he was too mean because he bit!  his nails were an inch long and
wrapped around his steel cage and his ears were crusted w/black wax that
was all too much to bear i bought the poor guy for 20 dallors and took him
home he has been very good and doesn't bite ppl now since he eats real
ferret food he is now also learning to be a ferret because he was left in a
barn, that was up over 100 degrees (how did he not overheat is a mystery to
me) but the improvement he has already made is 100 turn around he now has
fun w/his new brothers and sister eats totally ferret food and now has
learned what a hammack is.  he dooks and war dances out of pure joy it is
worth everything to rescue a fuzzy i names the little joy kaluah due to his
color!
 
i just wanted to tell everybody this story to say how bouge ppl are to
animals it's so sad we need to take care of these 4 footed angels!
