I've used it for many years, and long ago it was the darker color.  They
seem to like it whatever color it is.  Recently I noted all of mine over
the last 9 years have homed in on this food of some 8 offered in seperate
bowls.  It is different from most foods as it has no corn at all, which
they can't digest anyway.  While not harmful, it displaced nutrition.
People with sick ferts offering this food along with the usual Timmy's
tonic report new ferts in a week.  This is the quickest turn around so far.
