Thank you for the laughter! At this point when people are now learning
about a VP candidate who said that the only thing endangered about the
Endangered Species Act should be that legislation itself (BIG alert for
anyone supporting Black Footed Ferrets), treated women as grocery sacks
for infants, liked plastic guns which won't set off detectors and
cop-killer bullets while disliking gun child-locks it was VERY, VERY
GOOD to have a laugh at the expense of such a group!

Seven did some very neat things today. We'll have to watch more but
she seems to possibly be one of the best ones we've had for language
acquisition; have to see if the trend continues -- that will tell us.
Ferrets in general tend to be rather good at language but a few we have
had have been excellent. Fritter and Meltdown were the best. Today I
told Seven that I was going to take a shower and she raced before me from
the room and down the hall in the right direction then into the bathroom
and directly to the tub which is also the shower and bumped it. Then later
I was in a chair in the front and said that I was going to get Meeteetse.
Seven raced toward the back of the house and turned into the bedroom (at
which point Steve watched what she did) and she ran into the master
bathroom which we have turned into Meeteetse's room and bumped sleeping
Meeteetse till she was noticed and praised. She might be one with real
potential. With Fritter I can recall mentioning to Hjalmar that he had
stashed his fruit cake and Fritter got up, checked Hjalmar's favorite stash
places instead of her's till she found it in the third place and ate it.
The most impressive thing with Meltdown may have been when Steve told her
several times that she had to find warp and then she'd get a treat. She
climbed under the bed, and emerged dragging warp by the scruff, deposited
her on Steve's foot, looked up and licked her chops. Think we'll have to
try to make some time for intensive language training for her.

Might be a bit hard to make much time. Steve's dad and mine both are up
and down again. Meeteetse is up and down. Ashling has surgery on Friday.
Have two friends having heart surgery this week. Obviously, we are living
normal lives for people who are in the end of the fourth decade and start
of the fifth, except that we aren't also putting kids through college!
