Got another call tonight.
 
4 year old male, current on distemper, loves cats, uses litter box, needs
good home.  Hammock, and toys go with him.  She doesn't know about ferrets.
He has been an only ferret.
 
The story: Hubby had him before they got married.  She is terribly
allergic.  Makes her wheeze.  (Gee, the chinchilla doesn't)  (Ok, that
was my editorial comment)
 
They gave him to his sister, but he was terribly abused and full of fleas,
they took him back Thanksgiving.

The reason I am trying to avoid taking in kids, is to keep them OUT of the
system.  Seems like if they are older, the just get picked over and no one
wants them.  So I run a Golden Ager Ferret Home.
