Just wanted to update everyone on the news from the vet. The bad news
first... Smokey has cataracts(sp?) AND should have his tail removed because
of the tumor. To be on the safe side he wants to send the tumor out to be
tested...just in case. So, he is having it removed Tuesday. Boy is that
gonna look funny. Now for the good news...he said the kind of tumor Smokey
has is rarely cancerous and that he looks healty otherwise. Yayyy! [...]37_19Sep200011:21:[log in to unmask] 0009 25695 16 20_Vet in Tribeca (NYC)14_Kristeen [log in to unmask], 19 Sep 2000 19:19:57 -0400320_- I have a friend who has a healthy ferret who hasn't been to the vet since
he relocated to the FFZ of NYC. The ferret is due for shots and he's
looking for a ferret friendly vet. Does anyone have any personal
experience and could recommend one? Hs lives downtown in Tribeca/Financial
district

Thanks!42_19Sep200019:19:[log in to unmask] 0009 25712 13 43_Re: Unbelievable Vet in Hoboken, New Jersey10_Sarah [log in to unmask], 19 Sep 2000 09:24:47 -0500258_- To: Melissa
It is my opinion the second vet is just as idiotic as the first. Deciding
not to perform a necessary surgery because you complained to the first vet?

Something is amiss here.

fondly,
Sarah B.

police officer and animal control I applauded you. I couldn't believe
that someone would march up and take someone's well cared for animals so
obviously they had to be abused.

As for all those people who posted saying lucky you didn't try to come take
their ferrets or you would be full of buck shot, obviously, no one would
try to take their ferrets because they care enough about them to do what
is right. That is a NO BRAINER! I really think some [...]39_19Sep200002:38:[log in to unmask] 0009 25751 29 28_Ron and a few other comments13_Diane [log in to unmask], 19 Sep 2000 09:07:29 EDT606_- Ron- Thankfully I didn't catch up with all my e-mail until this morning.
I would like to congradulate you on the steps you took to help those babies
out from a bad situation, and thank you for being so caring.

Unfortunately, I have noticed there are always some people who lay in wait
hoping for someone to make what they think is an "error" so they can show
everyone how intellegent, well-versed on ferrets they are, legally
informed, etc., etc. There is no waiting to see if perhaps something
unknown to them has occurred or if there are other circumstances

helping those in need. I hope that poor ALex didn't suffer because you
couldn't afford it. ( not a slam
