Hi Ailigh-
one of my boyfriend's ferrets has the same thing- it's a breeder tatoo.  He
thinks there's more information in the FAQ's of this list, but it's nothing
to worry about!  I think Marshall Farms is one breeder who does the tatoos,
but it may be another breeder.
