I have heard some people mention that ferrets won't scratch at or try to
get through tin foil ( i believe it was in a posting on fuzz-proofing
cabinets). PLEASE don't count on it!
Finnegan managed to tear through the dryer hose and was doing something
in there when I turned it on the other night. I heard a horrible
Thump-Thump-Thump & I knew what had happened. He came stumbling out at the
same instant that I turned off the machine.
The poor little guy! His eyes were half closed, & I swear that I could
see the stars & planets circling his head (... Wile E. Coyote?!?...) He was
limping terribly. Unfortunately, the only emergency vet in the area doesn't
know a thing about ferrets: she told me to keep him confined until the
morning (this all happed around midnight). I was heartsick about it.
Well, off to the vet in the a.m. and he was already tons better. The
vet checked him over; nothing broken, but a nasty burn on his front paw.
It's been 3 days & Finnegan keeps telling me that he's doing great.
The hose now has chicken wire clamped to it a the base of the hose. Voila
! If anyone out there has exposed joses, please, proof it before you have to
go through what we did!!!
Ferret Kisses!!
Finnegan & Elfyr :)
