Hello Ferret Friends,
Just wanted to give a heads up!
My ferrets have had a rice box for about 6 months now. For the first 3
months, they thought it was the greatest. Now, like any kid, they barely
remember it exists and play with everything else.
Anyways, the other day I was picking up their toys in the play room when
I came across their rice box. I usually sift through it to pull out the
toys they have buried. As I ran my hands through it, I found a tiny little
worm. It wasn't a maggot, but a tiny little brown worm. I keep a very
clean house, so this took me by suprise. It was then that I realized that
I kept the rice box under the windowsill in the room. I had the window
open days before to let in some fresh air. Maybe it came in that way?
Needless to say, I dumped their rice box. I figure I'll make them a new
one in a couple months when it'll be new and exciting for them again. I
just thought I would suggest to others that maybe you should change the
rice in your little one's boxes every couple of months just to be safe!
If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone!
Prayers out to those who have lost their loved ones, including Doug and
Sandy's Bandit! God bless him!
