First and foremost - KiSta is not closing, please don't read that in this
message....

I know Kim is posting herself, but I wanted to also post on her behalf.
For those who are not aware, Kim has seriously injured her knee. She has
been continuing to care for the more than 40 ferrets in the shelter, but
is in pain everyday. If you know Kim, you know that even if her leg was
hanging off, the ferrets would still receive the care they need. BUT, her
knee is quite serious and causing a great deal of emotional and physical
stress.

If you located anywhere in the general area of South Jersey and considering
adopting a ferret, please contact KiSta - website is www.kistaferret.com.
If you are located in PA, MD or DE, I will help personally to arrange
transportation if necessary. Kim has some wonderful fuzzies in her care,
I am not asking anyone to adopt an old, hard to care for ferret. We are
talking about young (many under 1 and 2!!), healthy, active and loving
ferrets.

Kim Rushing is always one of the first people to offer help whenever
someone is in trouble and has been involved with one of the most tragic
ferret rescues most of us have heard of - the Loving Ferret horror less
than a year ago. Already with a full shelter, Kim took in 29 from that
hell - yes 29 ferrets!! Kim also has in her possession 11 of the 15
ferrets from NY that were left in a boiler room without food and water.
All are young, about 2 in surprisingly decent shape, but skinny and in
need of lots and lots of TLC. These ferrets have been caged randomly,
they are not bonded, so a single or two out of the 11 would not harm
anyone emotionally!

Again, Kim is not closing down, but she needs to reduce her shelter
residents for her own physical well being. Homes are needed for the young,
healthy, very, very adoptable ferrets in her care. The older, sick or hard
to place ferrets can remain. But, Kim cannot physically care for the
overpopulation she currently has!!!

Again, transportation to the surrounding states can be worked out!! We
just need to quickly find homes for some wonderful fuzzies!!!

Hugs to all,

Jen and Gang
