With absolute 100% supervision, until the cat is large enough and smart
enough to be able to get up and out of the way, should the ferret become
too aggressive.
 
Sadly, I know this first hand.
 
I lost three young kittens one day, when the fuzzies were out to play.
While I was cleaning their habitat, I had forgotten to close a door... :(
 
Less than 5 minutes passed, I remembered, ran, and it was too late.
 
Mother cat was outside... and was heartbroken when she came back in.
Doesn't begin to address how I felt...
