I was so saddened by the story of the two ferrets given up by the man
getting married. It broke my heart to hear of how much he loved them. How
he cried and cried in the driveway of the shelter, too heartbroken to go
on. The ferrets too, his princesses, were apparently heartbroken. One
rapidly losing weight and depressed. Then he came to check on them, he
loved them so much. It broke his heart to see them taking it so hard.
He loved them so much that when one was nearing death he took them back.
Back with their loving owners, they slowly regained their health.....oh no,
wait. He left. He never came back apparently. The depressed one died
within a month. Ah, true love. Pets are always so loyal, to bad the
same can't be said for their masters.
By the way, this man was giving up his ferrets because his finace had to
give up her cats since he was allergic. Ever hear of allergy medication?!
What a pair those two are! Here's to hoping they don't get any pets!!!
When I volunteered at an animal shelter the reasons for which people were
giving up their "beloved pets" amazed me. I would see four year old dogs
traded in for new carpeting. My thoughts: if after four years they didn't
love the dog enough to let him on new carpeting (by the way who was
responsible for his training- the owners!) then they should let him go
and give him a chance to be in a loving home. Unfortunately, that leaves
others (a small minority of shelter workers) trying to deal with the
discards (loving pets) of the others (a majority of self-centered @#!&).
I have and will always love the pets in my life. I treasure them! They
will always receive my love, care, and attention.
My hat goes off to those that go far above and beyond just caring for their
own pets. Thank you so much to all the shelters and their loyal workers!!!
Thank you to all of you who dedicate your efforts to helping animals. I
don't know how you deal with the heartbreak!!! You are amazing people.
Any animals who come to you, trusting and needy, you are their savior.
Even if they don't make it, how lucky for them that it was your loving
hand that held them last!
Thank you all so much.
I'm sure there are many tributes to you over the Rainbow Bridge.
EVERYONE: Please try and support animal shelters! With your time,
energies, or donations! (-:
