hello all,
I have to agree with kim on this one 100%. We (my husband and I) are going
thru some very hard times right now. My husband hurt his knee at home
and had to have surgery. He was laid off because of this. He cant draw
unemployment because he cant go job hunting. Last week, we were forced to
go to a local church to get food to tie us over. We have applied for food
stamps. We are surving on $484 a month(my Social Security check). Our
house payment is $400 a month. We applied to Social Services to help pay
this month's light bill. With the $84 left over out of my check, we bought
ferret food and litter, dog and cat food and a few things like toilet
paper, dish liquid and a few groceries. The point that I am getting at is
even tho we don't have any money for groceries, we made sure that all the
animals are taken care of first. I bought all the pet's food first and
then figured out what I had left over to spend on groceries. My husband
says that we will go hungry before any of our babies do. Thankfully, we
don't have any kids (our daughter is grown and on her own). If we did
have childern at home, we would still do everything in our power to be
sure our pets were taken care of.
Pets are a responsibility. They are also part of the family. Once you
take on the responsibily, you need to do everything you can to take care
of them. I know that sometimes things happen that force people to give
up their ferrets. For us tho, that is not an option. Call us stupid or
whatever. We will somehow survive and still make sure our babies are taken
care of.
BTW..this is not a flame of any sort. For any that take it that way, I am
sorry. It is not meant that way.
Dooks to all!!..
Pat L.
