But, I can't stay out of this any longer, not after watching my mother's
pets for so long. The cat in the photo is Marshall. The ferret is Bear.
The PRAIRIE DOG is Tulsa (so named because he came from Oklahoma).

They are predators, I won't disagree there. My Honey wanted to kill a
prairie dog the instant she saw it. Many ferrets will. As will cats.

But Bear and Tulsa were literally raised together. If you couldn't find
them, look behind the dryer and they'd be curled up there, asleep,
together!

Just because they may be natural predator and prey doesn't mean that with
training, they can't be taught not to kill. I'm not saying every ferret or
cat or dog, or any other predator can be trained to live and let live as in
this photo, but... I have proof right here that they can live together and
even love each other. We had a business of 2 cats (Marshall and Elroy)
Bear the ferret and Tulsa the prairie dog. Take a look, if nothing else,
it's an adorable picture, taken on their level. :)

I'm just trying to make the point that while many ferrets are "killers"...
not all of them are, so don't automatically say "no bunnies" or whatever.
It's all dependant on the ferret. And the bunny! A 14 pound rabbit isn't
in THAT much danger from a 1 pound jill after all. Not under supervision.
This is IMHO.

My 2 cents for what it's worth.

I finally got a good grasp on reality. Now I can strangle it!
