This is about Daisy again - remember the girl that gained all the weight?
We thought at first a heart problem but that was ruled out. We're thinking
now that the weight gain might have had something to do with the
hormones/steroids that the adrenal problem is producing.
She was at the vet just a week ago for blood work, two vets probed her
body/stomach area carefully. It was all fat. Today I noticed a large
'something' in her belly. It is on her right hand side right below her
ribs and I can feel it from her stomach and her back. It seems to be the
size of a jumbo egg. I felt a few other ferrets and I feel something in
the same place, about the size of a grape, and it would move. Daisy's
'something' doesn't move. This must have grown this size since the visit
to the vet - or even after that, because I rub her back all the time and I
never felt anything there before - what's there now is really hard to miss.
Does anyone know what this might be? The vets are closed - I have no one
else to turn to until Monday morning. Please e-mail me at
