Hi again! I hope everyone is doing well.
I was at a pet store yesterday, and they carried Nupro for dogs. I thought
they had a ferret formula, but the lady swore they only made it for dogs.
I got a sample of the dog formula, and when looking online, I saw they do
in fact make a ferret formula. The ingredients between the two are exactly
the same. Is it safe to use the dog formula on the ferrets? I know I
can get the ferret kind on the Ferret Store, but I figured since I have a
sample, I'd like to see if the kids like it first. The website is no help
as far as my question goes, and the same goes for the pamphlet I received.
It's that time of year again, and the kids really want to go outside. For
the last couple of years I've been *really* scared to do so, once one of
them got a few ticks. When he had ticks, the vet gave me some foam for
fleas and ticks that is, obviously, safe for the ferrets. I want to let
the guys outside this summer (on the nice days) and was wondering if it
would be a good idea to put a little foam on them either before of after
they come in. If anyone could give me their ideas on this, or what they
do for preventing the bugs from living on the kids, l'd appreciate it. My
vet isn't comfortable giving me a spot-on, but if you could give me your
stories (and how much you use), that's be great, too.
One last (quick) note. Heidegger and his ulcers are doing much better.
I'm so surprised at how quickly he gained back weight (I was giving him
Gerber chicken baby food along with his kibble)! Again, thanks for
everyones help on this!
Take care!
