Hi to all,

I'm a relatively new ferret owner 2yrs and always learning something new.
Lenny, I wrote once about, he is now 2 and Trixie my princess is 1 1/2. To
give Trixie some acknowledgment I want to share a story about her as I did
with Lenny. In the mornings when we get up, 5:30am so they can have up
time before we go to work, my husband Jeff wakes up the critters. Lenny
licks Jeff eyebrows and eyelids and drags himself into his arms while
Trixie slowly moves around in the sleepsack. Jeff will start to pat her &
if she is not ready to get up she will politely lick Jeff's hand then open
her mouth clamp her teeth gently around his finger and escort him out of
the sleepsack then she goes back in to sleep and wake up when SHE is ready.
He could not believe he was just thrown out of the cage by her. She truly
is my PRINCESS.

Anyway, as far as food, they eat totally ferret. They did change their
manufacturing plant and the food is a little different. Lenny will eat
anything but Trixie had to be hand fed the food. I put a little ferretvite
on my hand to get her started & the food together for her to eat. Now she
will only eat out of my hand, bad habit I know but it's her only one and
sometimes she does eat from the bowl. I did get a sample of Zupreem and
even Lenny would eat it. My vet still recommends TF.

Lenny went comatose in Jeff hands the very same night my coworker and
ferret owner, Hi Jason, told me that it can happen. Lenny was up that day
for hours playing and following Jeff everywhere. When I came home from
work we played and when Jeff was holding him I guess he collapsed with
exhaustion. Jeff franticly said, Oh God I think he's dead. I laughed and
told him about the deep sleep they can go into and we put him in the cage
to sleep.

Someone had a question about litter. We use a recycled newspaper litter.
They are pellets and for the most part dust free odor free and relatively
inexpensive. We have heard that clumping litter is not good for ferrets
because it could stick to their fur. That's all for now.

Happy ferret dancing to all
Roseann, Jeff Lennylove and my Princess Trixie
