Hi again- wow- 2 posts from me in one day.

I mentioned that me little Einstein is having adrenal surgery in a few
days. She has a balding tail (and thinning fur over the butt) and
moderately-enlarged vulva and my vet can feel a pretty big adrenal but she
(Einstein)is otherwise healthy and happy- eating, playing, and pooping
well. My doc's philosophy (which I agree with and adhere to) is that while
you certainly don't NEED to do surgery as long as they're not really sick
yet, you may want to go ahead and do it BECAUSE they are healthy and the
surgery and recovery will be a lot easier on them than if you wait until
they're sick, underweight, and possibly immunocompromised and anemic. In
Einstein's case, I noticed her hair loss and vulva a couple of months ago
and since she was otherwise fine didn't feel any big hurry to get her in
(plus my vet was in the process of opening a new business and wasn't really
open at the time, except for emergencies). Now that my life and her life
have settled down a bit, though, I do want to get it taken care of before
Einstein starts going downhill, even though she could stay like this for
a long time before that happens. You just never know how they'll do!
Anyway, I think everybody should use their best judgement and trust their
vets judgement (if they trust their vets anyway).
