I posted this way back but since someone asked.... The best of my ferret
pictures have come when I put the three of them on top of their 4 story
cage.  They all look right at me "Hey Mom, get us down!" Its been the only
way for me to get one photo with the all of them.  I used it for our
Christmas card but I put a sled on top of the cage too.  I'm not sure if
this can work for those of you with large groups ;-) (FYI: they can all
climb down on their own but they usually wait for the ferret elevator (me)
to come get them when the photo shoot is over!
 
I also think that one of the Ferret magazines had articles with tips on
ferret photography within the last year.
