Had to stick my comments in with this one. I must have tried every single
possible ferret litter idea out there and was never fully happy. Someone
suggested the rabbit chow/alfalfa pellets about a year and a half ago. I
have never used anything else since! The absorbation is great, and to me
the advantages are numerous. Remember I am both a hobby breeder and a
shelter, so everything from litter training kits who eat everything to old
folks to abuse cases. I love the fact that even if they ingest it, who
cares? it gows right through the system. I have never once had a single
allergic type reaction since using it.
And I must agree with Troy Lynn... I LOVE the smell, like freshcut hay...
very country fresh and it really does a good job covering the natural
*aroma* without perfumes or additives that may be harmful. I would never
sacrifice quality for cost, but being a shelter, let's be practical, money
IS a factor.... I get the pellets at feed stores here at 50# sacks for $8!
That is great for our budget!
