Isoflurane is the safest anesthesia to use.  The animals most at risk
are the young and old and the sick ones.  But no one should have their
animals operated on when they are sick.  Halothane is another commonly
used aneshtesia but I doubt , I would hope a vet would not use it on a
ferret, it does not process out of their system as rapidly as Iso.
 
Okay, question here, and I need Ideas...I will be traveling in august from
Seattle washington to kentucky with 2 children..ugh..5 ferrets and 2 cats,
in a 1999 mercury mystique,,who should I put in the trunk??!!  JUST
JOKING..  but seriously how have others managed to do this ?  It is going
to be a longgggggggg ride.  June
