I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all that asked and gave their best wishes
to the ferret we picked up on Thursday with the belly tumor.

We decided on a name for him "PeeDee" as it was a good friend's name and
sort of descriptive of his problem. PeeDee had his surgery on Friday,
and the vet kept him through Saturday morning. He is doing wonderfully -
eating, drinking, playing and just looks so much better. The vets (Dr.
Fisher and Dr. Hulls) did a fantastic job on him - they were able to save
his urethra and his prepuce, so he will eventually look normal once the
stitches come out.

The tumor was biopsied and sent away for diagnosis - hopefully it was
benign and we are watchful for recurrance (in that case the vet may be
forced to remove/reroute the urethra).

We have guesstimated his age to be around 3 or 4 - and one of the nicest
mannered ferrets I have had the pleasure of knowing. A beautiful sable boy
with a pink nose. With a name and at least someplace to hang his hat until
we find a permanent home.
