Oh, Betty,
I have always loved your posts. You are 100% on target with this one.
Sometimes it almost overwhelms me at how far we have to go as a human race.
I, too, have been ashamed to be "human" on many, many occasions. My
husband tells me all the time that I should have been an animal.
And I tell him that, Luckily for the animals, I'm stuck being human, so
that I can try to improve life for ferrets or other animals by dealing with
other humans. To be an animal I would be at the human's mercy- of which
all too often there is no mercy - for animals- or children, or battered
women or the eldery or- well, the list never ends....
One small step at a time adds up to quite a few miles.
I think shelter operators define the word "FORTITUDE".
Thank you, Betty, for your steadfast and unwavering loyalty and love for
ferrets. God Bless.
