Hi Fellow FMLers!
I am owned by a single fert ( Ming Jou, sprite, 3yrs 8mos.) I took her in
for her physical/bloodwork and the test results were of concern to my vet.
(His concerns were the liver enzyme ALT, the Gamma GT was elevated, the
BUN elevated). That the proteins were elevated as well he thought was a
strange reading but was okay. He phoned me after consulting w/other vets
and I will be taking her in to repeat the screen, check bile acids and
possibly protein electrophoresis. Before I do this, however, I would
appreciate it if some of you knowledgeable folk(vet, techs, experienced
shelter parents) would comment on the results as well.
Just as a note, Ming Jou has always been healthy, very active, small eater
and drinker. SPOILED ROTTEN Weight has always been ~0.8 kg. She has
always eaten ferret food(mix of TF w/Sheppard& Greene or 8 in 1 ultimate
or the ferret store brand). She is caged at night only. She goes for a
long walk with me every day and thrives on long and short trips out of
town. As she has a penchant for flowers and plants, she has given me
numerous grey hairs <g> and has had two surgeries for blockages.
Following are the bloodscreen results.
[Moderator's note: I'm afraid the test results didn't survive the
transition to email very well. I guess they sorta make sense if you're
used to reading them, but the columns just didn't line up and I don't
want to mess with it too much and perhaps make things worse in the
process. (Normally I would have asked for clarification, but since
we're dealing with a sick ferret here, time could be important.) BIG]
