1)insulinoma meds - ideally both pred and diazoxide should be used together
b/c they work synergistically (pred tells the body to make more glucose and
diazoxide downregulates the insulin receptors). If $$ is a concern, alot
of ferrets do great on just pred alone.
2)post adrenal surgery hair regrowth - it can take a few months to
completely grow back - depending somewhat on the time of the year, the
ferret's overall health, etc. It can also take a while for the vulva to
completely go back to normal size.
3)heartworm is a concern in dogs, cats, and ferrets - all 3 should be on
heartworm preventative. Dogs can be treated quite successfully for
heartworm whereas cats and ferrets nannot - thus prevention is the key.
