potential for danger?

I am new to the list- I just joined today. I have been meaning to join
for awhile, but because of something that happened this morning, I finally
did it.

I am worried about my ferret. He got hold of a small rubber water toy that
I had (I thought it was put away, but he got hold of it- I must not have
ferret proofed as well as I thought I had) and he ripped the tail off of
it. I found the tail and a few small pieces of rubber (it was not a squeak
toy, so no internal parts) in addition to the "torso" of the toy and picked
up everything I could find. There are a few tiny chunks of rubber I could
not find and I worry that he may have ingested them. I have watched him
like a hawk all day and he seems perfectly fine. Should I take him to the
vet anyway? What should I watch for? I am worried!
