Hello FML'ers,

This is going to be a long one.

A while back, I received an email from a "mystery ferret friend". Someone
with the email [log in to unmask] They told me that they thought
what I was doing was so wonderful, and were going to send the shelter a
donation. Great, I thought! I soon received a $250.00 gift certificate
from The Ferret Store. Followed by an enormous shipment of stuff from
pets.com. Well over $500.00 worth of supplies, a cage, and food.

Yesterday, I received a call from Joe at the Ferret Store. He explained
that the owner of the credit card used to purchase my gift certificate
called, and denied ever making the purchase. She was not a ferret person,
and had no knowledge of ferret shelters, me or anything even remotely
similar. I told him about the pets.com order, and started panicking. I
had used the $250.00 gift certificate to purchase new hammocks, new water
bottles, and food..and now I'm indebted to the Ferret Store in the amount
of $158.00. Now, yes, I used the credit, and I'm not the least bit upset
with TFS, but the purchases I made could have waited, they weren't urgently
needed (I just wanted to spruce the place up for the ferrets) But, now I
am panicking because I can be held liable for the merchandise fraudulently
ordered by this person from pets.com. I can be in BIG trouble here.

So...to the person who did this, what the hell were you thinking? Did you
not realize that could definitely track ME, since you sent all this stolen
stuff to my shelter??? Did you do it for some sort of twisted joke? Or
did you think that it wouldn't catch up with me? Well, either way, credit
card fraud is a crime, and I've forwarded all your emails to pets.com, and
to the Ferret Store, and to white-star.com. I hope that you can be held
liable for what you've done. I should not have to pay for your crimes,
but due to the laws regarding credit card fraud, I will, since they have
no idea who YOU are, and I'm the one with their merchandise.

Please be careful other shelter operators. I am now looking at close to
$800.00 worth of debt that I did not incur. Not to mention if pets.com
decides they want to pursue the matter criminally.

Angrily Yours,

Kim
